I did buy a V2440 Food Saver. This issues I had with the V2240 went away. The V2440 works very well and I recommend it. Initially I did not want a model that had the roll storage with the cutter in it because those models take up a bit more counter space. The V2240 does not have this roll storage. The V2440 does. And after having it I have learned to like the convenience of this feature and I was wrong to not want it to start with. I have used the V2440 for many bags and I use it daily for canisters. Do over? Yep, I would buy a V2440 again.
